Bike For Egg Treadmill Upgrades: What They Cost and What They Do

Treadmill upgrades in Bike For Egg are coin purchases at your base that make training raise your Speed faster. See how to buy one and example prices.

In Bike For Egg, the treadmill at your base can be upgraded with coins, and upgrading it makes training on it raise your Speed faster. That matters because Speed is the gate for the zones and eggs you can steal: in one run, a duck guard asked for about 900 Speed, the yeti zone for 170k, and one shiny prehistoric egg for 17 million. When a zone's number is out of reach, buying the next treadmill upgrade is one direct way to close the gap — one player chasing a 3 million Speed target mid-run ran to his base to upgrade the treadmill and try to close it before the timer ran out.

What treadmill upgrades do

The game's own description puts it plainly: train on the treadmill to gain Speed, and upgrade your treadmill and base. The treadmill is your Speed engine, and upgrading it makes the engine run faster:

  • Training on the treadmill is how you gain Speed between egg runs.
  • Upgrading makes that training raise your Speed faster. In one run, a player with 500k coins mid-run could still buy two more treadmill upgrades.
  • Higher Speed then unlocks the zones and rarer eggs you can steal, like the yeti zone at 170k Speed or the 17-million-Speed prehistoric shiny egg from the same run.

How to buy a treadmill upgrade

  1. Head back to your base, where your treadmill stands.
  2. Open the treadmill and buy the next upgrade with coins, if you can afford the price shown.
  3. If you're short on coins, the purchase won't go through — earn from your pets first (a bigger base holds more pets farming coins), then return and buy.
  4. After buying, train on the treadmill to build Speed faster, then use that Speed to enter higher zones and steal gated eggs.
  5. Treat a blocked zone or egg as the trigger to check the next upgrade.

Coins come from your pets' income, so better pets and a bigger base are what fund the expensive upgrades later. See how to make money and pet income for the earning side.

What treadmill upgrades cost

Costs seen during one playthrough:

  • An early treadmill at about 100k coins
  • The next upgrade step at 75k coins
  • A mid-game upgrade at 5 million coins
  • A late-game upgrade at 2 trillion coins — at that stage the player could upgrade the treadmill "one more time," and took it

These are examples from a single playthrough, not a complete price ladder. In the observed run the early tiers came to about 100k and then 75k coins, while later upgrades reached millions and trillions. The next tier's price is shown in-game, so check it at your treadmill before deciding what to save for.

When an upgrade is worth it

The clearest signal is a blocked zone or egg: if a guard, zone or egg demands more Speed than you can currently reach — like the 3 million Speed target above — upgrading makes the training toward that number go faster. It's one demonstrated fix, not the only one: the same player also pushed Speed up with repeated Animal Index claims. Training basics are covered in treadmill training.

The treadmill also isn't the only upgrade at your base: the base itself levels up too, and more base capacity means more pets farming coins to pay for the next treadmill tier. Once your Speed covers a new zone, the payoff is access to its eggs.
